As part of the development team under the Lead Software Engineer, I played a key role in enhancing the international sportsbook's user experience through UI feature development, utilising React, Typescript, and CSS Modules. Another large part of my role involved crafting feature-specific endpoints on the serverless BFF layer (AWS) to handle complex business logic.

Working from Figma mocks, I applied UX and accessibility principles, ensuring inclusivity for a diverse, global audience. Rigorous testing, including integration and unit testing using Jest/Vitest and React Testing Library, was consistently implemented with a focus on TDD/BDD. I demonstrated an adept understanding of global product dynamics, delivering content in multiple languages and currencies. On the operational side, I provided on-call support, diagnosing issues and addressing queries from internal customers.

Key Achievements:

• Successfully led the migrationof UI widgets to Rematch models for improved site performance and developer experience.
• Headed the development of the Horse Racing feature, presenting essential insights to software developers and testers due to significant product knowledge.
• Won a hackathon with the creation and swift implementation of a homepage Oddsboost widget, setting the blueprint for future homepage widgets. Widget is now in production receiving around 9000 bets monthly.
• Moved our logic for extracting participants to the BFF layer, which reduced errors on the client which saw customers seeing blank team/player names.

Full Stack Software Engineer - Residently

Contributed to the development and improvement of a rental operating system aimed at streamlining and automating the resident journey. Implemented React for front-end solutions, crafting user interfaces that are both seamless and interactive. Utilised Ruby on Rails for back-end development, ensuring a strong and scalable server-side architecture. Engaged in the full software development life cycle, encompassing concept, design, testing, deployment, and maintenance. Actively participated in the agile development process, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of software.

Developed design-intensive brand pages using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, establishing a robust foundation For my development skills. Collaborated closely with trade marketing/design teams to ensure brand consistency and effective product message communication. Played a pivotal role in implementing crucial features, such as the new megamenu, leveraging React for enhanced user interactivity. Developed internal tooling during learning and development time, including a 'Flag Generator' for the marketing team, streamlining the process and saving time and resources for the company.
